February Field Trip

Congratulations to Josh Peters for enlisting in the Tennessee Air National Guard. Josh is a 2009 graduate of Unaka High School and a member of the Watauga Eagle Squadron.

Congratulations to Robert Willis for enlisting in the Tennessee Air National Guard. He is a 2009 graduate of Unaka High School. He is currently attending North East State Technical College.

Congrats Jake Howell

Congratulations to Jake Howell on his first solo on October 9, 2009. I look forward to working with Jake toward achieving his private pilot’s license. Great job!

Congratualations to Eric Norman for enlisting in the Tennessee Air National Guard. Eric is a 2009 graduate of Happy Valley High School. He is also enrolled as a freshman at Middle Tennessee State University.

Logan Clifton Goes Solo!

The Watauga Eagle Squadron recognizes Logan Clifton for flying solo for the first time last Spring. Logan is a 2009 graduate of Happy Valley High School. In addition, Logan is now a member of the Tennessee Air National Guard, and is currently attending Middle Tennessee State University.

The year is off to a great start!

This year is off to a great start! It looks as if this is going to be the biggest class yet for the Watuaga Eagle Squadron. I would like to say thanks to all the organizations who help to make this program a success.

January 2008

The Watauga Eagle Squadron would like to recognize Holden Vines for achieving his private pilot’s license. Holden is a senior at Unaka High School, and plans to pursue aviation as a career. In addition, Holden is currently working toward his instrument rating at Elizabethton Municipal Airport. Great job Holden!

Donated Engine

Harold Carter recently donated a “cutaway” Continental IO-520 aircraft engine to the Watauga Eagle Squadron and Carter County Schools. The students use the engine to learn more about the different engine parts and how it operates. The engine is kept at Unaka High School. To read the Elizabethton Star article click here.
